Helene Pierson, the Executive Director of Heart of Camden told me that our last hurdle, a meeting withthe planning Commission for the city of Camden will occur in a few weeks. After this last step, we can hopefully break ground and start the construction of the new Waterfront South Theatre. Many people have asked how they can become a part of it. We are launching a "Save a Seat" camapaign where, for a donationof $1,000, your name or a person's name you would like to honor will be put on a seat in the theatre on a plate attached to a seat. There are only 99 seats available and we have already sold 20! For information call Heart of Camden at 856 966 1212. This is a great way to honor someone close to you that lived in Camden and worked to create the great place that Camden once was....and WILL be again.
Also, as of this morning, October 27th, you have 5 more chances to see FORTUNE COOKIES. We have shows Friday and Saturday nights at 8 PM and 2 more Sundays at 1:30PM. The audiences have been buzzing and we are very proud of our new work. The cast is incredible.
Hope to see you there!

Methadone Clinic
I hope that everyone is aware that there is a methadone clinic being targeted for Broadway and Morgan Boulevard. This is moving from another part of the city that is slated for further redevelopment in center city Camden. This would bring at least 1,000 recovering heroin addicts to Waterfront South on a daily basis. We NEED to say no to this and we all NEED to get involved. There will be a meeting tomorrow, Monday, September24th at 4PM to discuss how we will oppose this action. Please come. It is at the Greenhouse on Emerald Street one block from Sacred Heart Church. For more information please call Andrea at Heart of Camden at 856 966 1212 or just come to tomorrows meeting to FIGHT THIS ACTION. The meeting is This week and we need to act now. CAMDEN BELONGS TO ALL OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We cannot continue to be the dumping ground for the things that no one else in the area wants in their neighborhood. WATERFRONT SOUTH needs to grow and prosper. Please get involved.

The Blog from the ground up
Welcome to my first blog! We wanted to have a way to keep you informed on everything that we are doing with South Camden Theatre Company, Waterfront South Theatre, and, in a larger sense, the rebirth of Camden. All of the endeavors that I just mentioned, though, require your help. Our next play, the World Premiere of my play FORTUNE COOKIES, directed by Celeste Bonfanti, will be opening on October 19th in the basement of Sacred Heart Church. We hope to see you there. As we go forward, I will try to keep you up with all things relevant with our company. Thanks for reading my blog today, but, a bigger thanks for your involvement with SCTC and the WATERFRONT SOUTH THEATRE.
