I hope that everyone is aware that there is a methadone clinic being targeted for Broadway and Morgan Boulevard. This is moving from another part of the city that is slated for further redevelopment in center city Camden. This would bring at least 1,000 recovering heroin addicts to Waterfront South on a daily basis. We NEED to say no to this and we all NEED to get involved. There will be a meeting tomorrow, Monday, September24th at 4PM to discuss how we will oppose this action. Please come. It is at the Greenhouse on Emerald Street one block from Sacred Heart Church. We cannot continue to be the dumping ground for the things that no one else in the area wants in their neighborhood. WATERFRONT SOUTH needs to grow and prosper. Please get involved.

Granted there are alot of methadone users who are criminals, but there are also good people who just got caught up. Methadone is not just for heroin addicts. It is also given for people who became addicted to pain pills who are given way too much by doctors. I do agree that Broadway and Morgan Blvd. is not a good spot for the clinic. I think we should worry more about all of the hookers on that intersection. Let's think about what they bring to that area.
